Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday, met with the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi; and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in London.
It learnt that it was part of negotiations ahead of the 2023 presidential election, although details of the meeting were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
Wike attended the meeting with his allies including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, among others.
Wike has become the “beautiful bride” of the major presidential candidates as he had equally meet in London with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Earlier talks between him and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar have not been fruitful but Atiku has not given up as he has also travelled to London for discussion with Wike who is regarded as a major force within the PDP.
