NITDA holds a 5-day Training for ICT Media Practitioners

National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy has kicked off a 5-day training for ICT media practitioners on “Digital Skills in News Reportage for ICT Journalists.”

The opening ceremony which took place on Monday at the Public Service Institute Abuja had in attendance the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, the Managing Director of Nigerian Communication Satellite, Mrs. Abimbola Alale and the Managing Director of Galaxy backbone, Prof. M. Abubakar.

The capacity building programme which is to take place from 13th- 17th July, 2020 is part of the implementation of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) for Digital Nigeria.

In his keynote remark, the Minister, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami said, “Digital Nigeria cannot be achieved without training people that will play a key role in ensuring we achieve a Digital Nigeria. Journalists have a role to play and most importantly, ICT journalists.”
The minister also emphasized that on Digital Skills, similar exercises will be organized for farmers, people living with disabilities, civil servants among others.

ICT tools were presented to participants during the event marking the Day 1/of the training.
