The Member representing Etung Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Chris Njah Mbu-Ogar has hailed Third Republic Governor of Cross River State, Dr. Clement Ebri and the incumbent Governor, Ben Ayade, whose administrations molded the bulk of the current crop of leaders in the State and the emerging generation of leaders respectively.
The lawmaker gave the acclaim, recently, when he paid a courtesy visit on the erstwhile governor Clement Ebri in his home in Calabar, the State Capital.
He pointed out that the administration of Dr. Clement David Ebri, which lasted between January 1992 and November 17, 1993, during the Nigerian Third Republic, made Liyel Imoke a Nigerian Senator at 31 years, Donald Duke, a Commissioner in his 20s, Prof. Ivara Esu, Commissioner in his 30s, Senator Gershom Bassey, Chairman, Cross River Estates Limited (CREL) in his 20s, Dr. Usani U. Usani (20s), Elder Bolaji Anani (LGA Chairman 20s) and several other young Cross Riverians, who are today, leaders in their own rights, saying: “this great Icon should be greatly honoured in Cross River State.”
He thanked the ex-governor for the opportunity to tap from his wealthy warehouse of leadership knowledge, which would serve as an invaluable resource in his life’s sojourn.
Speaking on the present administration’s policy of inclusivity and enlargement of governance architecture, which according to him has “changed the political dynamics of the State,” Hon. Mbu-Ogar said Governor Ben Ayade’s vision is “an all-encompassing package to combat leadership inadequacies and restiveness through involvement of over six thousand youths with leadership roles in government.
“I am obsessed with any one whose interest is to create an academy of young promising leaders. Every Society or formation needs a succession plan. This gives us hope as State. You now see why I am indebted to HE Senator Prof. Ben Ayade?” the legislator remarked.
He posited that thorough understanding of inclusivity and the need for succession, Governor Ayade’s foresightedness has made the State replete with leaders who are ready and hungry to take up leadership roles and render service to humanity.
Hon. Mbu-Ogar called on Cross Riverians and residents of the State to continue supporting the leadership of Governor Ben Ayade, as he continues to steer the State to higher pedestals.
