Executive Director, Operations Jaiz Bank Plc, Alhaji AbdulFattah Amao has said the bank since the last two years has been very aggressive in opening branches in the South West and that plans are in the top gear to open more.
He made this known on Sunday as guest speaker on the Companion/Criterion Ogba Agege, Lagos branch online Usrah programme with the topic: “Taking advantage of non-interest financing opportunities & building a sustainable business.”
A questioner had asked during the programme why the operations of Jaiz Bank is limited in the South West with many Muslim SMEs owners in the region not enjoying the benefits Jaiz Bank is offering.
In his response, Alhaji Amao reminded the audience that Jaiz Bank started as a regional license holder which meant that it could only have presence in the geography location that it chose originally, and that this was limited to Abuja, North Central, North West and later to North East.
He added that, “as the operations of the bank continue to expand and the capacity got bigger, it obtained the license to operate nationally.”
He stressed that “As soon as that was gotten, branches started springing up.
As we speak today, Laogs has four branches of Jaiz Bank namely, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi; Ikeja, Obafemi Awolowo Road; Apapa; and other one at Marina.”
While speaking on the plan to open more beaches in the South West, he said:
“It is also a fantastic opportunity to challenge my dear brothers and sisters who are listening. We’ve been looking for properties in Agege axis for us to have yet another branch in Lagos. But we haven’t found a suitable one yet. I’m sure you will be glad to take on the challenge.”
He also said that Jaiz Bank currently has two branches in Ibadan, one in Shaki, one in Oshogbo and two in Ilorin.
