FHA Inspects 500 Hectares of Land Donated By Kano Govt For 10,000 Federal Housing Units

… As plan for Sharada Housing Estate’s regeneration, rehabilitation reaches peak
Impressed by the Kano state governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s gesture towards the establishment of another federal housing estate in Dawanau town, by donating a land of 500 hectares, the Federal Housing Agency (FHA), inspects the site and hints that preparations are in top gear to start the project.
Leading the team of the federal housing agency, the Executive Director, Business Development, in charge of Commercial, Corporate and Social Housing, Honourable Abdulmumini Jibril Kofa, on behalf of the Managing Director of FHA, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, commended the state government for being the only state in the federation that donated such vast land for the project.
“It is on record that, no state government in the federation  donated 100 hectares of land, not to talk of 500 hectares of land as donated by governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of state, for this project. A total number of between 5000 to 10,000 housing units will be put in place, but in phases,” he appreciated.
All preparations, according to him “…are on top gear to start the project.” Adding that “We must express our gratitude to governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for supporting us achieve our vision in Sharada Housing Estate and donation of land in Dawanau town, for another federal housing estate.”
Before heading to Dawanu town for the inspection, Kofa was in Sharada where he held meeting with the residents, as has been the practice recently.
At the meeting he, on behalf of the Managing Director of the Agency, commended governor Ganduje’s efforts in making sure that Sharada housing estate, is regenerated and rehabilitated, as demanded by FHA across all other Estates in the country.
Adding that, “To further make Kano Zonal office of the FHA, here in Kano, the management agrees to overhaul the entire staff of this office. I am, therefore on behalf of our MD introducing to you this new team of our staff in this Zonal office.”
He further explained that, FHA would soon start audit of the houses in Sharada housing estate. Assuring that, “Whatever we are going to do, will be done with human face. I am at the same time commending governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his unflinching support in making sure that things work out according to laid down procedures.”
On his part the Chairman of  Sharada Housing Estate Residents Association, Abdullahi Bashir, commended FHA and Kano state government for being diplomatic and reasonable in the process. Reminding that, when Dawanau housing estate is completed, the credit and glory should go to governor Ganduje and the current leadership of FHA.
Appreciating further that, “Since when we started residing here, at the Sharada Housing Estate, it is only this time around when we get such recognition by the Federal Housing Authority, the new staff of the Zonal office are introduced to us. And we are introduced to them. This is highly commendable.”
