Ecobank Transnational announces Alain Nkontchou as New Chairman

The Pan-African bank, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) has announced the appointment of Alain Nkontchou as its new Chairman of the board of directors.

Prior to his appointment, Alain was non-Executive Director at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated since 2015.

The Cameroonian who has traded fixed income, currencies, commodities and stock indices over his 20+ years of experience holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité in Paris and an MSc from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Paris.

Alain is also the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Enko Capital Management LLP, located in the London office. His responsibilities include overseeing the firm, managing Enko’s client relationships, and investment decision-making.

His appointment came after the tenure of Nigeria’s Emmanuel Ikazoboh who held the position for six years ended last month.

Speaking about his appointment, he said:
“I am honoured to be appointed as Chairman of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated.”
