Daura Polytechnic gets temporary offices, quarters for take off


Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has charged the pioneer management of Federal Polytechnic, Daura to work assiduously for the take off of the institution.


Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari gave this charge when he received the new management of the institution led by the senator representing Katsina North senatorial District, Alhaji Ahmed Babba Kaita and the Rector, Associate Professor, Aliyu Mamman at government house, Katsina.


The Governor reminded them that as a new institution, they have a critical role of ensuring that qualitative education is being given to the students.

He directed that an arrangement should be made for housing and temporary structures as offices in the polytechnic.

 The Governor explained that the VIP at Daura and structures owned by the local government should be made available as houses for the management of the polytechnic.

 He assured that TETFUND will be contacted to do the needful for the institution to take off relatively with ease.

Governor Masari requested them to work with stakeholders in Daura to ensure the successful take off of the institution.

 Alhaji Aminu Masari was happy with the role played by senator representing Katsina North senatorial District Alhaji Ahmed Babba Kaita for the legislative work at the national assembly that saw the emergence of the institution.


He assured that government would continue to support the new management despite lean resources as education remain a priority of the APC administration in the state.


Earlier, the senator representing Katsina North senatorial District Alhaji Ahmed Babba Kaita told Governor Masari that the new management staff have been presented with letters of appointment by the federal ministry of education.


He described the institution as a baby child of Governor Aminu Bello Masari, saying he had already granted certificate of occupancy to the polytechnic.


Also speaking, the Rector of the institution, Associate Professor Aliyu Mamman told Governor Aminu Masari that they were at government house to formally introduce themselves as the new management of the institution.

 He expressed gratitude to the Governor and Senator Babba Kaita for the establishment of the polytechnic, provision of temporary and permanent sites


He however requested for housing accommodation and need to synergise with officials of education in the state to achieve the purpose of establishment of the polytechnic.


He assured that after the new management draw up an action plan for the polytechnic, the plan will be brought to the Governor for his blessings and necessary corrections.

He assured that stakeholders will be carried along in moving the institution forward.
