The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna State Chapter has asked Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai to prosecute and quarantine all persons that attended the Empowerment program and commissioning of Empowerment Office organised by Ekene Adams Abubakar an APC Chieftain which held in Sabon Tasha ward of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The PDP noted that the gathering violated the Covid-19 control protocol invoked in the state which led to abrupt disruption of academic, religious, economic and other activities.
Hon Ibrahim Barhama, State Assistant Publicity Secretary of the party in a statement said “The empowerment of the long suffering APC members by their chieftain though commendable, is ill timed and counter productive as only the living needs empowerment not the death. “
Barhama said the program has ” exposed the over 10million residents of the state to the dreaded Coronavirus since the government directed protocol on physical distancing, use of nose masked among others were violated with reckless abandon.”
The PDP therefore noted that the empowerment gathering in the midst of second wave of the Viral infection which has  pushed Kaduna State to third position in the nation’s infection rate among its peers is “condemnable in strongest terms, hence, all attendees and beneficiaries of the program should be prosecuted and quarantine immediately to prevent further spread of the virus.”
The party identified Ekene Adams Abubakar, the organiser of the program, Ben Dalhatu Kure, the Political Adviser to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Cafra Caina, Chairman Kajuru Local Government, Alh Bala Matazu APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chikun Local Government, Mikai Adalo, erstwhile Chairmanship candidate of the APC among others as notable persons that graced the occasion.
The party however urged its members and all Nigerians to continue to be law abiding while observing physical distancing, regular washing of hands, use of  face mask among others to remain protected from the ravaging coronavirus.
