Traditional Rulers from the communities in Anaocha Local Government Area of the Anambra State has conferred a chieftancy title of “Ikemba Dị Ugwu” of Anaocha on the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aspire FC, Dr Chukwuemeka Okeke.
Dr Okeke who was recently named by his Alma Mata, the University of California on her 40 Under 40 prestigious award is a native of Adazi-Ani, Anaocha Local Government Area, and the Founder and CEO of Rise Global Healthcare Initiative and Spine Communications.
His companies and Football Club have all been geared towards sharpening and empowering young persons in Anaocha and beyond.
Dr Okeke is also the son of the Transport mogul, Chief G. U. Okeke of G. U. O. Transport Group of Companies.
The conferment which takes place at an event tagged “Ana Fest” was a moment to reward, appreciate and empower sons of the council area who has over the years been recognized as pillars to the ten communities that make up the council area and as well as celebrate the 2021 New Yam festival together as brothers.
The chieftaincy title conferment proper was introduced with the popular Mbem as well as twenty one gun salute.
The Mbem and twenty one gun salute in Igbo Land is used to usher in a great warrior who will be dressed in an elegant costume.
Dr Okeke understanding this expectation, in his regal attire, dressed to depict that the title of Ikemba Anaocha as he moved round to exchange pleasantries with the traditional monarchs of the council area, the clergy, local government chairmen, House of Assembly members, traditionalists, industrialists.
These were converged to bear witness to the honour of some one seen as a well deservedly son of the soil who has not looked back in yielding to the State Government’ call of Aku Luo Uno.
The council area equally used the occasion to display, appreciate and empower farmers and individuals who have distinguished themselves through hard work that have helped to sustain the council area as an agrarian council area.
