The African Development Bank has said it will partner the Ogun State Government in the proposed Special Agro-industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) to boost productivity, processing and marketing of selected commodities.
A statement by the state government said the AfDB Chief Environmental and Social Compliance Officer, Dr Bakia Mbianyor, stated this when he led the bank’s team on a two-day appraisal mission to the state.
The statement stated that  during a meeting with the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Adeola Odedina; and his finance counterpart, Dapo Okubadejo, Mbianyor said the environmental and social assessment appraisal mission was part of activities lined up for the AfDB project pre-appraisal mission to Nigeria.
“Mbianyor said the team would meet with local communities where hubs, farmlands and other infrastructure would be situated and also meet the state SAPZ inter-ministerial technical team, and inspect industrial hubs and other project locations across the state,” the statement added.
