1,000 bed space UNIUYO hostel donated NDDC to be ready before December – Contractors

Contractors handling the 1,000 bed space hostel at the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), Akwa Ibom State, have said the project would be ready before December for commissioning by President Muhammadu Buhari.

They gave the promise on Sunday, 17th October, 2021, when the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio paid an unscheduled visit to the premises of the university.

The project was donated to UNIUYO by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Akpabio was accompanied on the visit by the Interim Administrator of the NDDC), Mr Efiong Akwa.

The Minister, in a statement said ” This project is one of the very many abandoned projects spread across the Niger Delta Region. I was satisfied with the quality of work done. I was assured by the contractors that it would be ready for commissioning by President Muhammadu Buhari before December. We are acting on the presidential mandate of completing all abandoned projects that are beneficial to Nigerians.”
